Dylan & Papi
Dylan and his Papi have become quite good friends lately. Dylan loves being like Marcos. He loves playing and watching soccer just like Papi. He loves music and playing the guitar. I love looking in my rearview mirror and seeing his scrunched up face as he gets into a song. Dylan loves just about anything Marcos does - he just likes hanging out with him. The other night, we grilled some chicken and the kid was in heaven following Marcos in and out of the back door a million times, asking for a plate or whatever other errand Marcos had sent him to accomplish. It's been really cute to watch! Marcos has always been a good dad and enjoys the kids more than many fathers do, but the last few months, I have watched him grow and become an excellent dad. Why? I don't know. But the man misses his kids so much when he's gone and can't wait to come home and be with his family again. The other day, Dylan said to Marcos, "When I'm a Papi, I'm going to name myself Marcos." When Marcos told me about that, we both got a little teary-eyed. It was Dylan's own way of expressing his desire to be like his Papi when he grows up. It was so sweet!

OK, I am extra sensitive lately (for good reason) but this REALLY touched my heart. I feel a tremendous love for my brother, even though I don't always show it. When I have the privilege of watching his boys he always calls to check on them and I think that is so cute. Dylan and Marcos have such a great smile in that picture. I just love it. What an honor for Marcos to know how much Dylan loves him and wants to be just like him. That is a great "goal" for Dylan to have and I am sure he will accomplish it. Marcos' heart is bigger than him at times and I have ALWAYS loved that about him. He is a very special spirit. You are a lucky girl, Maria, to have those boys surround you... I am sure you know that. LOVE YOU ALL!!!
I do know how lucky I am and I remember most of the time. Marcos does have a good heart...it's what drew me to him in the first place. And yep, I love all the boys that surround me! I wouldn't have it any other way! I know those sensitive moments of yours and I love watching them. I can so relate. I'm bad enough when I don't have hormones having their way with me!
That is one of the sweetest things I've heard! Marcos always was a great dad when I saw him. Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery...or something to that effect. Anyway, that's a cute way to say 'I love you' to his Papi!
