Since I obviously can't keep up with this blog, I decided to just post pictures from the past five months.
My friend, Jamie, turned 30. We threw her a little surprise party.
Field trip with Papi. We stopped at the train museum, took a ride on the front runner train, looked around the planetarium and grabbed a bite to eat in SLC. Quite an eventful day for a family on a train.
Japan. This year for school we are learning countries and cultures. We started with Japan and had a longer-than-expected unit that turned out really fun. Here are a couple pictures of our sushi night when we listened to Japanese music, tried to eat sushi with chopsticks and even got dressed up in karate outfits and showed off some pretty fancy moves.
Blue Lightning
Marcos is coaching Preston's team this year. I debated signing him up this year, but I'm so glad we did. He was so excited to be a big boy, have a uniform, and play soccer. He has some great ball skills, but gets a little lost with all the noise and commotion during the game. Hopefully that will get better with time. The good thing is, I've never seen a happier kid, even if he had no idea where the ball was at the time. :)
Fast Falcons
Dylan's team is getting quite good. He has two players on his team who he has played with before, which is quite fun. He's getting pretty good and definitely takes soccer seriously. He is a total team leader/motivator, although if you know him, that probably doesn't come as a surprise. He's the one grabbing other players with his arm around their neck and coming up with special hand shakes. He talks about wanting to join a comp team, but we'll have to see. That's a pretty big commitment.
Living Planet Aquarium
Cute kids! This is what we look like twice a day while the kids take turns doing the listening program (one of Preston's therapies we do at home)
Loving their library books. I finally had to tell them 5 books each when we go because I have all the books for our units too. Things were getting out of control. I'm glad they love reading though.
A couple of nurses Marcos works with invited us to go four wheeling with them. It was awesome to have a date doing something fun without the kids. We went up a canyon in Mantua and climbed to the top to a place called Inspiration Point. We could see Ben Lomond Peak from there, which is not too far from my mom's house. It was BEAUTIFUL! Marcos wanted to drive most of the time, but I took over on the way back down the mountain. He couldn't believe what a dare devil I was. He tends to slow down on the bumps...I do the opposite. I like getting a little air. :)
Cute little Marissa. She loves little chairs, books, emptying drawers, putting clothes on (especially using the boys' underwear as a hat), binkies and food. She folds her arms for prayers and is the snuggliest little thing I've ever met!
We had a trip to Starvation Reservoir with my dad and step mom planned in August. The boys caught a flu bug a few days before, but luckily got over it in time to go. Marissa and I, however, did not. I stayed home with a sick baby and Marcos took the boys camping with my family. Funny how that worked out. Not many pictures since dad was in charge.
Owen is Preston's best buddy. He is 3 years old and has juvenile diabetes. We went with them to the annual walk for juvenile diabetes this year. It was a fun day with lots of things for the kids to do.
My BFF, Lisa, met me at Thanksgiving Point in August. She took the kids to see the animals while I went to a reflexologist (I know, sounds weird, but I'm open to alternative medicine these days). I met back again to finish up a very hot afternoon riding ponies and going on a hayride. I thought Preston would be scared of the horse. Nope. Surprised me yet again and LOVED it. Marissa and Tommy (Lisa's baby) tolerated it for a moment and then were done.
Marcos, Esteban and Laura (3 of 4 kids in Marcos' family) went to Florida this summer to see their grandma. She flew up from Argentina, but wasn't coming to Utah so they went there to see her. Thanks to Laura's many sky miles, they all were able to go for really cheap and had a great few days visiting with family.
Tony's birthday bash at my mom's house.
Gotta love pinatas. So fun!
Playing, making messes and baking bread with mommy. See that picture of Preston loving me. How can you not ADORE that child! He is the sweetest thing ever!
I watched Alicia's kids, Kamyn and Kenya, while Alicia and Nate went to the temple. It was a long, fun afternoon and evening of music, toys, food and fun.
Marissa loves toothbrushes and baths. I usually bathe her with Preston and then get her ready for bed while Preston gets a few more minutes to play. She is naughty though and often sneaks back into the tub after I've got her in pajamas for the night. Dylan loves being my big helper and decided he was strong enough to carry Marissa in the backpack. Crazy kid! Oh...and Marissa is obsessed with her belly button. Loves it! If you want her to smile, ask her about her belly.
My step dad was recognized at an event at Weber State University. It was a formal event so we got dressed up and went. It was so much fun! There were so many ladies I knew there at the event, most of whom were in my sorority. It was like a sisterhood reunion. Gotta love reminiscing about the good old days.
Warm weather! Gotta love days at the park with a pair of binoculars and a bunch of ducks.
Minestrone soup in bread bowls shaped like pumpkins...and a cute pumpkin cake. Oh, and the bunny is Biscuit. He is Preston's preschool mascot and was visiting our house during our fall party. Hey...sometimes I'm actually a fun mom.
This kid is growing up way too fast. He loves shaving with Marcos' shaving cream and my rubber raiser blade.
AWWWW!! These kids are so squishy and lovable!
Uboldi Homeschool Halloween Bash
I decided to do something fun with a few kids in the neighborhood who are homeschooled. We had a Halloween party and it was great. Twelve kids from three to ten years old (plus Marissa) running around. We played bingo, pictionary, did spider handprints, played a pass the pumpkin game, danced to Monster Mash, bobbed for donuts and finished off watching Winnie the Pooh Boo to You. It was so much fun!
Thanksgiving celebration (early) at my dad and Suzanne's house
Thanksgiving at Abuela's. Such cute cousins!
Sledding. There wasn't much snow, but we took advantage of what there was and headed out for an afternoon of fun.
Thanksgiving at my mom's. I actually decided to enjoy the holiday so there aren't many pictures. Oh well.
Setting up Christmas. It was so warm so Marcos put up Christmas lights outside (which never ended up working...SERIOUSLY!) and Preston, Marissa and I worked on trimming the tree. The kids also had a blast playing in the leaves. It was a crazy busy day and Preston ended up wandering off. Scariest thing ever! We ended up finding him around the block. He thought Dylan had gone to his friend's house, tried to follow him and got lost. Pretty bad. Marcos called the police and I went searching for him. I'm so grateful for the moments when you are truly being lead by the Spirit. Not sure what I would have done without that guidance. I found him looking lost and confused and couldn't do anything but hug and squeeze my little man for hours after that.
Polar Express. Anthony's dad treated us to Polar Express again. I stayed home with Marissa since sitting still on a train didn't sound like something she would be good at (you know what I'm talking about if you've seen us in sacrament meeting). Marcos ended up taking all three boys (Dylan, Preston and Anthony) by himself. He's an amazing papi and a really good sport.
Cousin pictures with Abuela
Silly Marissa
Dylan put his coat on her one day. So funny! Another day, she found the stash of binkies I had tried to hide. Yes, this was her face. It was like Christmas morning for her! That girl loves her binkies. We're working on gradually getting rid of them. Down to binkies only to sleep. Hopefully soon. Oh, and you know she REALLY loves you when she offers you one of her binkies. Dylan gladly accepted her generous offer to share.
An evening at temple square
Christmas at my dad and Suzanne's
Gotta love the fake snow from styrofoam. Not my idea. Made a total mess, but was sure fun for the kids.
More proof of this child's love of toothbrushes and baths. This is three separate occasions. One time in the sink, one time in the bath (after I had bathed and dressed her) and one time she actually hopped in the toilet because I told her no to getting back in the bath. I was freaking out that day! Yes, this one keeps me on my toes!
Christmas with abuela
The kids played so well and loved all their gifts. Preston could not stop playing with his Mr. Potatohead. Amy did a little program talking about the meaning of Christmas objects and I lead some Christmas carols. It was a really fun night spent with family!
Christmas Eve visitor
Awesome Christmas. LOVED Christmas this year! We started some new traditions and tried to really make it meaningful...and it was. Marissa was so cute with her new baby and the boys were so fun to watch opening their gifts. Preston LOVED the opening part. Dylan was polite and waited his turn. I don't know what's going on, but this kid really is growing up.
Christmas dinner at grandma's. Grandma had some really fun gifts for the kids today. Twirling lights, ant farms, sea creatures Star Wars tanks....and....MARSHMALLOW SHOOTERS. She made them too. They were the funnest thing EVER! Everyone got in on the action and we left piles of mini-marshmallows all over the driveway.

so much fun...I was starting to worry a bit about you. I enjoy checking out what you have been up to and seeing how big the kiddos are growing. we need a get together soon...
It's about time ... been waiting for updates forever. Looks like a lot of fun!
It was fun to run into you the other day, even if it was really fast. I loved this life in pictures post. Your children are so beautiful and I"m glad you are all doing so well!
