Dylan Turns 8

My "baby" turns 8 today. I still can't believe I have a kid that old. What is going on here? Dylan is a smart, curious, intense, emotional, sensitive, caring, inquisitive, spiritual, responsible kid. He is strong-willed and fights me on a lot of things, but is protective and kind-hearted. He is the biggest helper I could ever have hoped for in an oldest child. He LOVES his brother and sister and can pretty much help them with everything. He changes diapers, helps them get dressed, teaches Preston how to do his chores, and can't wait to learn about EVERYTHING! He empties his dishwasher every morning, makes his bed, takes out the trash and then comes in and gets mad when I forget to let him help me vacuum or clean the bathroom as part of his "celestial service." Everything is "EXTREME" with Dylan. His highs are high and his lows are low. He is fun and exciting and fairly dramatic for a boy. He is a natural leader and NEVER says he is bored. His imagination and innovation could keep him occupied forever. :) I never thought my strong-willed, stubborn toddler could be such a loving, helpful boy, but I can honestly say that Dylan is my buddy. I'm his mom and he even answers "yes ma'am" when speaking to me (something he learned from some polite friends of ours) but I enjoy teaching and re-experiencing life with my Dylan more than I ever thought possible. Here's to eight years that flew by... Happy Birthday, Dylan Alberto!

(It's a big year for him so he pretty much has a weekend of fun and celebration planned. I will post all about the birthday happenings when I have some pictures.)
