Semi-Annual Clothing Project

The other day, I ventured out to finally pull some weeds and try to make the yard look a little more presentable.  Next thing you know, I was in the shed pulling everything out, cleaning and rearranging.  Honestly, can I not just do one project at a time?  That turned into the cleaning of the garage, which is now a huge mess.  We're going to build a few shelves in there so until that is done, I was sorting through everything, which of course lead me to the semi-annual changing of the clothes project.  The dreaded but necessary process that mothers must go through.  Holy moly, between washing, sorting, piling, folding, hanging and organizing, I was working on those clothes for three days straight.  But I'm happy to announce that it's finally complete.  The kids now have closets with clothes hung in outfits (because Marcos and Dylan aren't the best at choosing outfits) and then a drawer of play clothes folded in outfits as well as pajamas and all the other kid things that end up in drawers.  But it's pretty much done.  It was way more overwhelming than I thought it would be.  We are so blessed to have not only Dylan's old clothes, but clothes from my other nephews and now from Anthony (for Preston).  So there were quite a few things to sort through and redistribute.  But hey, at least it's one more thing I can cross off my list.  Now if I can just get the other 100 things crossed off, I'll be caught up :)

This is pretty much how multiple rooms in my house looked for a few days while I sorted through everything
Oh, I hate living in chaos!

The closet with all the newly organized clothes
It doesn't look like much, but they're all clean and hung in outfits - a truly wonderful thing

I am tired just reading this and thinking about how I need to swap out clothes for my 3 girls!! It is such a chore. Every time I pull into our garage I think about how I need to clean it, then there is the unfinished basement with boxes everywhere in no order. . . . the list goes on and on!
Wanna come help? :)

I think that project deserves five check marks - way to go! Where do you get your energy? On a side note, did the magic eraser really get the sharpie off? I may need to know this for future reference (although I hope not) - Yeah right, huh?!

Brandy- Thanks for all the exclamatory statements! I needed some praise for all my hard work. Marcos is thrilled it's done, but I don't think he understands how much work it really takes to actually organize stuff. He just knows the clothes in the family room drive him crazy for several days. Nice!

Stacy- I think I'm a bit worn out from projects for the moment. Give me some time and I'm there though. I am seriously such a freak! I like tackling a big unruly project and feeling like I conquered it- it's managing the children in the meantime that really wears me out.

Melanie- yep the magic eraser worked. I had to go over it a couple times, but it worked pretty well. I was about to google it, but decided I'd try that first and luckily it worked.

I HATE HATE HATE, the clothes project. It is so nice to have all the outfits put together, that is the only way I can get my kids to match. Way to go on getting it done.
