Dylan was really admiring my ring on Sunday and then looked over and noticed that Marcos had a ring as well. He wanted to wear my ring, but the thought of a three-year-old even touching real jewelry makes me cringe. I explained that it was my special ring and that Papi gave it to me when we were married. He started telling me that he wanted to be married too. I tried everything to divert his attention, but there was no stopping this kid. He really wanted to wear a ring. So I jumped into brainstorming mode and went on a mission to find something that could serve as Dylan's "wedding" ring. Sure enough, there wasn't a plastic spider ring to be found...even in October. It serves me right for cleaning out his junk all the time. So I went to my jewelry box with fingers crossed. So this it is...Dylan's special wedding ring. It's actually an old, cheap earring I had stuck in the back of my jewelry box, but it fit perfectly and looked real to him. He was so funny. He wore it to Grandma's house and had to show it off. Then when he was playing, he asked me to take it off and hold it for him. He said, "Mom, could you just not lose this for me. Be 'berry' careful with it." The whole process was so amusing. He really thinks we're all married now--I guess it's some sort of family bonding for us all.
