Our Week

This picture says it all!  It's been a rough week.  Dylan's been wandering into our room every night with weird dreams, needing drinks, going to the bathroom, thinking he needs more books or toys... just stalling because he's scared of something.  And then Preston has been waking up a time or two also, but screaming.  Once in a while I can get him back to sleep by turning some music back on and rubbing his back to calm him back to sleep.  But not this week!  He was restless and antsy.  He tried to stand up for me to get him out of the crib, but he was still so drowsy that he'd fall over.  Poor little guy!  He's getting all four canine teeth at once so my guess is that's the main culprit, but you never know with kids that can't talk yet.  I've been up 2-5 times every night after going to bed way too late anyway.  And a couple of days, one child or another was up by 5:00 a.m. and clearly not going back to sleep.  It's been a weird week!  Preston, my predictable, scheduled, routine-loving child rarely will sleep anywhere but a crib or playpen. We started him early, he loved the security of routine, and it's been that way his whole life.  But this week, he has laid by me in bed, needed to lie on my shoulder while I sat or stood rocking him, fell asleep in Marcos' arms several times, fell asleep next to me on the couch, and took two complete naps in the car.  I hope this passes soon.  I can't get anything done and I've got a "To Do" list that goes on for pages.  That's the other thing, I think I need to ease up on my ideas of how much I need to accomplish in a day.  I'm only one person after all!  So I thought I'd post this cute picture of my poor little man asleep on the couch to let you know why I have been a little absent this week.  It's just been a crazy, survival-mode week!
